Zapret for Windows
Zapret runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11. Setup takes about five minutes: download the archive, pick a working strategy, and optionally set it to autostart as a Windows service.

Compatibility
Windows 10
Fully supported. Enable Secure DNS in your browser (Chrome: “Use secure DNS” with a non-default provider) — this is a hard requirement for the bypass to work.
Windows 11
Fully supported. It is recommended to enable Secure DNS (DNS over HTTPS) directly in the system network settings — this makes it effective for all applications at once.
Windows 7
Limited support: the WinDivert driver requires a compatible digital signature. Replace WinDivert.dll and WinDivert64.sys in the bin folder with the files from zapret-win-bundle/win7 in the bol-van repository.
Antivirus software
WinDivert may trigger false positives (Not-a-virus:RiskTool.Multi.WinDivert). Add the Zapret folder to your antivirus exclusions — this is safe, as WinDivert is a legitimate open-source driver.
Quick start
- Enable Secure DNS in your browser or the Windows 11 system settings.
- Download the latest release and unblock the archive (Properties → Unblock).
- Extract to a folder whose path has no non-Latin characters, e.g. C:\zapret.
- Run service.bat → Run Tests → All configs and find a working strategy.
- Set the strategy to autostart: service.bat → Install Service.
Common errors on Windows
Service will not install
Run service.bat as administrator and make sure the folder path contains no non-Latin characters. See troubleshooting →

Does Zapret work on Windows 10 and Windows 11?
Yes, zapret-discord-youtube supports both Windows 10 and Windows 11. On Windows 11 it is additionally recommended to enable Secure DNS (DNS over HTTPS) in the system network settings.
Does Zapret work on Windows 7?
With caveats. On Windows 7 the WinDivert driver needs a compatible digital signature: replace WinDivert.dll and WinDivert64.sys in the bin folder with the files of the same name from zapret-win-bundle/win7 in the bol-van repository.
